"Roger that, Echo Romeo." Angel replied and took a breath as she set the controls and the small fighter shot out of the flight deck into open space. Feeling the effects of the grav plating shifts, she cocked her head. "You're right, this is different." she mused as she navigated the fighter through space. "Feels more tactile though, like I'm actually in control not just tapping a button and it just goes."

"When you clear the gravity well of Jupiter set a course for the asteroid belt. We have a series of holographic drones for target purposes. They will interact with you."

As they flew she instructed Angel on the basics of combat operations. Rebecca was impressed. She had never seen anyone pick this up so quickly.

Angel kept her cool, even though she wanted to squeal and grin like a kid, this was so much better than the simulator her father let her and Marcus and Olivia play with. Even though 'play' was basically training, but once upon a time 'games' were used to train troops. "Coming up on the asteroid belt." she reported and glanced at Sandoval. "First time I've been out this far without my folks." she whispered.

"It'll be farther trust me."

The computer blared a warning, and Rebecca clasped the respirator over her face. "Romulan Kel'din class attack sloop is decloaking off the port bow. 328 mark 58. Range, 300 million kilometers. Arming quantum missiles, and phasers are charging."

"Taking evasive maneuvers. Huh... that's actually a command... never knew that." Angel mused as she entered in a course and watched as the targeting sensors started to paint the Romulan ship. "Question... just because they are an attack sloop and decloaked, shouldn't we hail them first?"

Green disruptor blasts launched from the enemy ship. Their fighter didn't shudder under the impact, but alarms blared in protest.

"Direct hit to the port nacelle. No damage, and shields are holding. I'm reading another tachyon surge. A Klingon attack fighter is decloaking 010 mark 31. Their weapons are charged"

"Oh we're popular today... guess that answered my question." Angel deadpanned as she cocked her head and spun the fighter around, shooting upwards so they were above the two enemy craft. "In target range of both ma'am and weapons are locked on."

"We are being flanked by the Klingons. The Romulan ship has cloaked."

Another volley of simulator disrupter fire hit their fighter. This time the computer screamed in alarm. "Direct hit to aft shields. They are down to 68%. If you are going to fire your weapons Ensign, now is the time to do so."

"Firing weapons now, just getting into position." Angel replied and tapped the weapons control, phasers lancing out and torpedoes firing in her pre-programmed pattern, each striking their intended target. "Losing a bit of shield was worth this..." she gestured as each target lost power. "Alright... so we still have a cloaked ship... that just had a bit of debris spark against its hull." she armed a torpedo. "Quantum torpedo locked and... launched."

The Romulan ship dropped cloak let loose a volley of torpedoes before sliding behind an asteroid and cloaking again.

"Reading a tachyon surge bearing 411 mark 08."

"Tricky one isn't he?" Angel muttered as she narrowly avoided the torpedo spread and readjusted course. "Takes him approximately 2.1 seconds from cloaking and the surge to be able to fire at us again..." she said softly under her breath and got into a position that would put them behind the Romulan ship and she set up a firing pattern that would launch a spread of torpedoes toward the tachyon surge with one torpedo on a slight delay once they decloaked. This was certainly a challenge and she was loving every second of it.

"Their shields are down while they are cloaked," Rebecca reminded.

The Romulan ship appeared let loose another volley of weapons and as suddenly as it appeared it vanished behind a cloak. "Shields are holding. Warp drive is off line. I'm reading another tachyon surge. It's from a much larger ship. It could be from a Romulan Warbird. 381 mark 20."

"Crap." Angel muttered and looked at the control board. "Impulse is still good... we can't beat them at warp anyway." she brought up their weapons status. "Can one of these birds go up against something bigger?"

Rebecca shrugged, "I have never tired. The Romulan ship has decloaked. It is a civilian transport ship. Congratulations, your hesitation would normally get you killed, but today it saved nearly 200 civilians."

"I hesitated because scouts rarely follow a capitol ship, although if they had hostile intent, then I am sure that one fighter wouldn't be enough to engage them or repel them." Angel replied. "Also because... the Romulans are still our allies as well as Klingons, of course there are other races who have taken surplus ships from both sides or rogue elements." she glanced at Sandoval. "Feels a tad racist to keep using Klingons and Romulans in war games."
