"Well, then they deserve having you punish them. I might even have paid to see that." he grinned. "Did you see how surprisingly clean the floor is, considering that the pride went through here."

Curious, she glanced over his shoulder to look. "There's no way you had time to clean up after them... but this is cleaner than when Spunky and Murphy come inside after playing all day..." She paused, thinking back to when the cave cats had walked by to go inside. "There was a female cat at the door while they came inside. Didn't see what she was doing... but I assume cleaning everyone's paws."

"Two of them, but yes. They must have seen how we remove our shoes when we enter. So as thank you I gave them some water and jerky." he started to head up the stairs.

"Never saw the other one. But apparently they're smarter than even we realize. And we live with one."

"They never stop amazing me." he said as he headed in to her master bedroom and then in to the master bathroom. "Should we enjoy the jacuzzi?"

"It's been so long since I bothered coming up here for a shower I almost forgot I had a jacuzzi in my bathroom." She chuckled a little, wondering why she hadn't thought to use it since she'd gotten pregnant. "I think that's a very good idea."

"Alright then." he set her down on the side of the jacuzzi. "I'll let you get the water running and then you simply slip in the water. I'll go and get some tea, maybe some candles we can set up for a nice romantic time in the jacuzzi."

"I have some new cinnamon-vanilla ones on my desk. They're in a cloth bag, should be easy to spot."

She grinned a little as he left to find the candles and make some tea, shaking her head slightly at how silly - even childish - he was. As he went on his search, she turned her attention to the water. It was an interesting puzzle to find a temperature they'd both find pleasant; Zerna's tolerance for heat was too low to run the water as hot as she might normally like it, but she had at least a few minutes until he returned and decided to err on the side of warmer rather than cooler. They could always add more cool water if it didn't cool off enough by the time he returned.

When she's first arrived on Terra Alpha, she'd thought it was a coincidence that there just happened to be a Trill scientist living on the planet, with the same name as the young man she'd met at the academy. That is, until a news broadcast about the man trying to save the planet's indigenous predators had caught her attention. However, it had taken a long time to figure out where he was. They'd said he was a science officer on the starbase, but his name wasn't listed on the active duty roster, and he never seemed to actually be there.

The person who'd told her where to find him had hesitated, as if he hadn't wanted to tell her. But once he had, she'd easily found the large stone house... surrounded by the same strange predators that Zerna was apparently trying to save. One of them blocked her path, and she dropped down on one knee to greet it, gently touching its chest and marveling at the fur's texture. It was soft and rigid at the same time, soft enough to be pleasant to touch but stiff enough to serve as protection against injury.

The cat seemed convinced that she wasn't dangerous and let her pass, walking beside her as she approached the door and sitting nearby after she'd rung the doorbell to see if anyone was even inside.

Zerna was about to walk up the stairs when the door bell rang. "Be right there!" he called out as he turned and opened the door, he didn't really care much that he was only wearing a towel, candles in one hand and tea in the other. But what really surprised him was who was on the other side, so much so that he actually jumped slightly back, just barely saving what he had in his hands from failing to the floor. "Alex? What are you doing here?!"

"Looking for you. Heard you were here, thought I'd see how you were doing." She gave him a studious look, her eyes lingering for a moment on the towel and then the candles. "Didn't expect to find you like this though... I mean... I can come back later."

"I... eh..." he was lost for words, he hadn't seen her in over 13 years, on their first date she had just vanished, not even showing up. All he got was a message the next day, saying that she didn't like him anymore. That his habit of running around nearly naked had been a constant source of annoyance. He had heard her say that he shouldn't do it as much before sometimes. And that her father had offered her a spot in the Marine academy and that the marines would have far more pleasing bodies then his skinny body would ever give her. Something that only marines where true men had also been added.
