((Not really sure where this falls in our timeline, but it would be after the police force has been approved and plans for hiring and constructing the new facility would be underway.)) Murphy licked her face, and she opened one eye to look at him. "Go pester Zerna." Instead of obeying, the dog licked her again and barked and wagged his tail, as if to say she shouldn't still be sleeping. "It's my day off," she protested, putting the blanket on top of Murphy's head. Still, he insisted - like he did every time she managed to get some time off - that she get up. "Oh... fine. But if I go down there and he's already fed you, you're getting smacked. Spoiled rotten little mutt." The threat had little impact on Murphy, who cheerfully led her from the bedroom, down the stairs, and into the kitchen, where he sat down next to the empty bowl with an expectant look on his face. "Nuh uh. Not good enough... I'm going to ask him." She took her time finding a mug and warming up some tea before she checked the living room to see if Zerna was there. Nope... maybe he's in the basement. The sounds from the construction outside rang through the walls as she went down the stairs, and by the time she reached the basement, she was starting to wonder how she'd slept through that. Shaking her head a little, she looked around. "Zerna... are you even down here?" |

Zerna hadn't slept a moment, the sound didn't allow him to do so. But it was for the cats so he endured it. "Yes." he answered as he worked on the console. "Something you need?" he asked, not looking away. |

"Just making sure Murphy isn't trying to beg a second breakfast out of me." She gave him a studious look, setting her cup down on the desk. "Are you okay? You look tired." |

"Yeah, hard to sleep with all this noise. So I came down here to work, who knows, I might pass out of exhaustion..." he shrugged. "And yes, he is. I filled his bowl before going down here." he yawned a little as he leaned back, rubbing his temples. |

"I knew it. He's such a snot sometimes." Clio rolled her eyes and then gave Murphy - who'd followed her down the stairs - an unamused look. The dog promptly tucked his tail between his legs and crept under a table, trying to hide from them. "Why don't you take a break for a while? We can have breakfast... and maybe talk about how I'm going to supply this new police department, now that they're actually drawing up plans for the new building." |

"They are? About time if you ask me..." he stood up from the chair. "Maybe I do need some time off..." he said as he waited for her to guide them. He didn't catch the fact that she needed equipment and tech for the new police, he was simply to tired. |

Clio smiled a little, picking up her tea. "You're barely hearing half of what I say. You definitely need a break... and something a little stronger than the tea you usually drink if you plan to stay awake. Come on... I'll cook breakfast. Because if you try, you might burn the house down." She snickered a little, pushing him toward the stairs with her free hand. |

"What?" he didn't understand why she said that he didn't hear more then half she said as he struggled to get up the stairs. "Alright alright. I am starting to think you are pushing me up the stairs just so you can touch my butt..." |

He stopped in the middle of the stairs, turned around and looked down at her. "What was that?" he asked in a tone, clearly showing that he was calling her on her words. |

"Nothing," she said innocently, taking a sip of her tea. |

"Uhum..." he sounded like he didn't believe her, but it was part of the fun to tease. "You know how long the construction will take?" Zerna asked as he started up the stairs again. |

"The tunnels are pretty extensive, so it'll be a while. The noisy excavators should be gone in a few days though... the digging's the easy part. But what I'm wondering is how I slept through it and you didn't." |

"I might be more sensetive to the sounds at the moment. Some days you simply sleep lighter." they reached the top of the stairs and he held out his hand for her. Even if she didn't need it, he loved doing small things for her and holding her hand was a perk of dating her that he clearly enjoyed. |

Even though she didn't really need the help, she graciously accepted his hand to climb the last couple of stairs, grinning a little at the gesture. "I guess that's possible... could have something to do with the babies too. I didn't used to sleep in at all... I'd be up before the sunlight even came through the window." |
