"Napping only makes for a good painting if there's some humor to how they're resting. But I have a camera upstairs somewhere I can use to take pictures of some of their sillier antics."

"Sounds good." he took more time to look at the images now.

While he quietly looked at the drawings in the sketchpad, she quietly finished painting. As she'd predicted, it took a relatively short time to fill the entire canvas, but at the end she painstakingly painted the raindrops and tears on his face in slightly different shades of blue, just different enough that they were distinguishable from each other. Lowering the brush down into the cup of paint-stained water, she studied what had appeared on the canvas. Though she'd watched him from inside, where she could only see the back of his head, she'd painted him in profile, his head tipped back so that the rain fell on his face. At first she hadn't been sure she liked the colors, but once finished the blues and grays easily conveyed the emotions she'd picked up not long before.

"Yeah... I think it is. But the paint is still wet, so don't touch it."

He scooted over and placed his head on her shoulder to get a good angle. What he saw made him go blank. "When did you see this?"

"Yes, really. Go find one of my good pens, the ones I had to hide from Spunky because they're shiny." While she didn't think she'd ever be famous for her paintings, she'd humor him and add her name to the bottom. "There should be one in the kitchen, inside the drawer with the silverware."

"Yes ma'am. Should we wait for it to dry to the paint don't get streched by the pen?" he asked as he stood up.

"Yeah, we do. But that part should be almost dry." She tapped the bottom right corner very gently, finding the paint still slightly tacky. "Little too wet, but it won't be long. Half an hour, maybe an hour."
