~You can be sure of him.~ sent a 'friend' to Becca's mind. ~As you can be sure of me still I hope.~ She walked up to them and smiled at Becca. "Long time no see Becca." It was Nancy of course, and she was so relieved and pleased to see Becca.

Becca stood with a rather large grin and hugged her. "Nancy. Been a long time. How have you been?"

"Been missing you." Nancy said, deflecting the question but also speaking the truth at the same time. She returned Becca's hug and smiled. "I am here to help as well. They do say timing is everything. And if you or anyone calls me Princess I'll kick some butts." Let her sister Aine wear the princess tag, she was just a doctor and that's how she liked it.

"The Admiral was introducing himself," Rebecca started and took her seat. "And you missy did not answer my question," she jokingly chastised.

How could Nancy explain? "How have I been... been finding out lost family I didn't know I had." she admitted. ~Oh I know it will be hard to explain, but Carly here... she is my grand-daughter and I only just found out that I am really Jack's real mother. I hear you are a mother as well?~

"I have been," Rebecca replied. "But soon to be again." Rebecca rubbed her bulging belly and felt a slight kick and that queezy feeling that comes when the child pushes against the stomach.

Nancy looked at Becca and smiled. "Blessings come to us in nasty ways sometimes, but it is not the way they come to us, but that they are given to us at all."

"In all things there is a plan."

Nancy stole a glance over at President Nick and she sighed. Then she looked back at Becca and nodded her head. "There was a transporter accident, the kind that happened to William T Riker, that produced Thomas Riker. Suddenly one Nick and one Nancy left my home planet and became President Nick, and Noella St James, while the transporter signal bounced back and deposited me and Nick Czeski back home. And it is strange looking at this Nick, knowing he is not my Nick... he is." she said, motioning over where Nick Czeski was. "We just have to be brave enough to see the plan and follow it through."

Rebecca only shook her head. The waiter returned with the coffees and she sipped the bitter beverage as she allowed all that was happening to sink in.

"So my dear friend, how can my people help?" Nancy asked. "Besides beaming off the injured from both sides that is. We also have ships at your disposal, but we will be helping in a more covert way, as the Imperium doesn't know we even exist."

"Up to you. I am here to create havoc and fear of the Imperium. To show the quadrant that the Imperium can be beat."

"And you can count on us to help you show them who is boss so to speak." Nancy said with a smile. "We are here to help, Trojan horse, covertly, whatever you need of us, we are here."

"Speaking of the Trojan Horse Idea..." It was a female voice, but it wasn't Nancy. "Excuse me, Ma'am." the woman said. "I am Acting Captain Tanya Baker, commanding officer of the ISS Julia Gillard. The idea I believe is to act like we are under attack at the shipyards, they will assist us, allow us to dock, and then we will take down the shipyards from the inside as you take down the shipyards from the outside."

"Sounds like a plan." Rebecca glanced around and shouted across the room. "Tornack a moment please."

The Hylon ((ooc half narlin (elf) and half human)) approached the table. "Admiral."

"This is Commander Malven Tornack commander of the Narlin ground forces for this expedition. He has 1,500 troops under him."

"It is an honor to meet you." said Admiral Dylan to the Commander.

He nodded his almost Vulcan features were betrayed by the smile on his face. "The pleasure is all mine."

Tanya had a suggestion. "Admiral Sandoval... I was thinking. For the assault on the shipyards, our part in it... would the Commander trust us enough to be transported to our ship as soon as we are 'cleared' and secure in the shipyards? If you could transport some of your best troops onto our ship and hide in the holodeck so you won't be discovered... Then as soon as we are secure, you could assist us in mounting the attack from the inside? Unless Admiral Sandoval is going to be needing you to launch a ground assault at the same time?"

Rebecca shook her head. "That was my plan as well. The Erebus still has her Marines. They can secure the planet. Will his entire regiment be enough?"

"They will be, added to our own." Nancy interrupted, as politely as possible of course. "Commander, just in case you are not sure of our loyalty, Admiral Dylan is President Nick's Uncle, and Captain Baker is the Admiral's daughter, and President Nick's cousin. And as for my people... we were Vulcan before the Vulcans were Vulcan if that makes sense." She shrugged. "I bet we may even have shared ancestors some where back in the day. My people are willing to commit to match warrior for warrior, meaning for every warrior you have Commander, there will be one of ours as well."

He shrugged, "The ancient texts say we came to Talaria from a planet of war through a portal... of magic. Talaria was not a magical world and the Narlins lost their powers. But few believe in it anymore and the priests teach adapted texts of Narla."

"I would be interested in learning about your peoples." said Nancy to the Commander with a smile. "So what do you say though Becca. If we match the Narlins warrior for warrior and help take down the shipyards?"

"The main base has over 3,000 personnel. I would prefer overwhelming force. But we do have surprise on our side."

Tornack smiled. "That is not necessary. Imperium gosa has nothing on our Sentinals. We are equipped with our ablative armor and skilled in energy weapons and the blade."

"Did I forget to mention that between the Julia Gillard and Anthony Abbott, we have over 2500 marines and there are also the special forces, and the Rangers. So we will have overwhelming force indeed... if our plan is to succeed." Admiral Dylan added.

Tanya shivered for a moment. "I cried in the movie called Troy when the Greeks came out of the Trojan Horse and slaughtered everyone, never thinking I would be in the same position as the Greeks. However, Admiral Sandoval we need to know our standing orders... weapons on stun or kill?"

Rebecca paused in thought. "Our safety is number one. But let's get as many prisoners as possible. That being said the Imperium has employed EM dampeners in the past making phasers useless."

"Makes a sword useful suddenly," the Hylon joked knowing a lot of the Alliance forces made fun of the Narlins for going into battle with swords.

"A man after my own heart." said Princess Aine who had been covertly listening. She walked over and showed her own sword.

"And worry about yourself, we will take care of the wounded." added Galen as he also eavesdropped. "From both sides. All you need to worry about is securing the base, we will take care of the prisoners ourselves."

Rebecca nodded.

"Then you will have my sword and Sentinals," The Hylon stated. "Since the slaughter of our people at the hands of the Imperium many are looking for a little taste of justice."

"I fully support your quest for justice. It gives me an idea." said Aine as she sheathed her sword. "I would suggest that our forces are better used another way."

"What way?" Nancy asked, concerned that she would pull out of the idea.

Aine knew what Nancy was thinking and smiled. "It's ok sis. I simply mean, we can pretend to be a delegation from an earth colony since we 'look' fully human... that would like to offer our help to the base. So in a way it would be a Trojan horse on the inside with their own troops, and a trojan horse on the outside... and they would have to fight the battle on two fronts, inside the starbase mano o mano and also once we announce our true loyalty and it is time, a battle in space as well. They won't know what hit them."

"Sounds devilish. But will the Imperium accept outsiders?" Rebecca asked.

"We could appear first, and attack." said Galen, chuckling at the idea. "If then Aine comes in and starts fighting us off, and even pretends to defeat us, then I am sure the Imperium would accept any help that they can get."

"Let's do it." Rebecca said with a grin.

"May I play as well?" Captain Asya asked. "I may not be family, or friends, but I am just as loyal to Starfleet and the Federation as the rest of you, that I can promise. But I do have one important problem, if I may?"

"Starfleet and the Federation died the day the Imperium was born," Rebecca replied dryly.

Aina smiled. "That is what I love about Phoenixes... they are more powerful and strong when they are reborn. You can't kill Starfleet or the Federation. It has just taken a holiday, but it will return better than ever."

Rebecca grinned and stood, "No, my friend the Alliance is not the Federation reborn it is a response to where the Imperium has steered the old Federation. I like to think of us as the Confederate States and the Imperium as the United States... minus the slavery... for us anyway. Now if you'll excuse me. I have never been one for parties and I do have a lot of work to do."

That wasn't quite what Aina meant. "I meant the 'ideal' of everything we believe in, what we fight and die for.. that will return better than ever. And we can once again be proud to say we come from Earth."

"I suspect that will take a good many years. The damage has been done."

"That is something we are used to, picking up the pieces after the battle has been won." said Aine with a sigh. "Our forces are at your disposal, and we will communicate with you, through Nancy as our liaison with you... if that's ok with you."

"That is acceptable."

"We are ready to transport over to your ships when you are ready," The Narlin commander responded.

Aina had something to say first. "You can come with me in a few minutes. First though there is something you all should know. I had a dream last night, and while I don't usually hold it as gospel... I sense that there may be a darker enemy out there, and that god forbid, we might even end up joining forces with the Imperium ships to fight it. I know, don't look for trouble, it's one battle at a time. I just think we need to be watchful and alert as the Imperium are not the only enemies out there."

"That's right one enemy at a time. We cannot afford wondering or planning against an enemy we know nothing of."

Aina nodded her head. "Of course, Admiral. I just thought I had to bring it to your attention." She looked at the commander. "What location do you want me to beam your troops from?" she asked him. "As I don't want to expose where your troops are, so could you form up at a certain location, give me the co-ordinates, and we will beam you on board our ship?"

"The nebula will do." Rebecca stated. "The one four light years away. A great staging area."

"Very well. When do you want us there, Admiral?" Aina asked.

"Perhaps it would be best to wait until the Admiral sends out the signal to meet there." Liam suggested.

"Father is right." said Tanya, then she groaned knowing that she just outed herself as his daughter.... "I mean the Admiral is right. We will await instructions and pray."

Nancy thought about someone she should connect with, since it seemed this party was also a sort of family reunion. So she took a moment to look around and saw her and smiled. She excused herself from Becca for a moment, and walked up to someone. "Captain Carly Ryder I presume?" She smirked. "I am .. oh gosh it feels so strange saying this, but I am your grandmother, Nancy."

"I know, saw an impression of you before I arrived. Lovely to finally meet you face to face." Carly said with a smile. "And so good to know that I'm not in any way related to Empress Lei. You're royalty of some sort too aren't you?"

"I am a servant of my people." said Nancy with a shrug. "I don't get into the princess tag. I am a doctor like my mother. And I am proud to say you are my grand daughter, not Julie's. I hope that makes you happy."

"Immensely." Carly replied and looked at her. "Medicine does seem to run in the family, or at least Doctorates. I actually did consider going for my doctorate but the when I came from, there was no school to actually get that piece of paper from." she sighed and looked at her. "Since I found out about you, I wonder how different my future would have been had your people shown up. I don't blame you for staying away. Things got very dark very fast." She looked Nancy in the eyes. "I told Galen I would do whatever I can to help you and your people. I never did feel like I ever belonged, even in my own timeline, like I simply wasn't with the right people." ~ But now I do~

Nancy couldn't help herself, she opened up her arms and extended them to her. "You are family, and you are one of us. I am sure my brother Galen told you we were there Carly, but we just had to remove the memory of being there from you so we would not be exposed. But now we will be there more than ever." ~The plan that Becca has approved is this - our Trojan Horse ships will be led by your grandfather Nick's cousin Tanya, with Narlin and Fifth column troops hiding in the holodeck so when it is secure, they will take over the base from the inside. At the same time, Galen will pretend to be this big bad and attack from the outside whereby our people will turn up as human and offer our assistance... to which we will pretend to help them, until we know that the attack on the inside is on. The base will have to fight an internal and external battle at the same time. It will leave your ships to attack at the end if necessary or pretend to attack instead of Galen... it depends on whether you want your ships to attack first and flee because we defeated you or you want to come in and mop up the mess.~

~It does not matter to me, I'm fine with either option. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's being adaptable in combat.~ Carly replied with a half smile. ~ Mop up would work, I seem to be decent at cleaning up messes.~

Nancy knew what that was like. ~Being adaptable and mop up work, cleaning up messes, seems to be what our people are best at.~

Carly hugged Nancy and whispered. "Then now, for the first time in my life, I feel like I make sense."

"That is why you are here my dear." Nancy said, stroking her hair. "And it is why I am here with you now... because we are family, and we belong to each other."

Irene saw her daughter Tess and she walked over to her. She hadn't seen her much since she had helped deliver her daughter's baby, so she wanted to check in. "You look amazing my dear."

"Thank you mother." Tess said with a smile as she pulled a strand of hair from her face. "It took me ten years to lose the baby weight I put on when I had Tony and Natalia. But, curvy is 'in' this year." she winked. "I'm glad you were able to be there for the birth."

"I wouldn't have missed it for the world." Irene said, hugging her daughter.

"Hey Dan?" Irene called out to her husband. "Doesn't our daughter look amazing after having a daughter of her own?"

"Tess takes after you, of course she looks great." Dan said with a laugh. "Is it me or do you look way younger?"

"Love that regression field." Tess winked. "Although a few too many old habits and not enough exercise, but Leo kind of doesn't mind. He's still freaked out that we had another kid. Even though I told him it was entirely possible that it could happen."

"Where IS this magical field... I'd like to relive my 20s again." Dan said with a wink to Irene.

"I would also like to know." Liam said as he winced as he walked up to them. "You do look amazing sis and I am so proud that you are a mother again." He really should be in a wheelchair but there was no way he was going to negotiate with Admiral Sandoval in a wheelchair. And he couldn't hug his sister from a wheelchair either. "I am so happy for you. At least you know your children are safe." He thought of Krissy then, but then he looked over at Tanya and tried to smile. He looked at his father. "Father... everything is in place." He hoped his father was not disappointed that he got shot and was no longer in command of his ship....

"Good." Dan nodded his head and whispered to Liam. "You're not going to fall over and make your mother and sister have to treat you."

"No sir!" Liam exclaimed. "Wouldn't think of it, sir." he said as he saluted his father with his best salute.

"Oh Dan, leave our son be. He is doing the best that he can." Irene whispered into his ear for his ears alone. "He is hurt and yet here he stands. So you should be proud of him for being here instead of in a coma in a hospital bed. So at least give him his due. He has done a great job, and as his father you should be saying so. If it wasn't for him, there would be no fifth column, no fleet defecting to our side, and the fight would be that much harder to win."

Admiral Dylan thought he better discuss his plans with the President, his nephew. "Mr President, I know you have overheard our deliberations with your FCO Admiral Sandoval. "Of course." Carly said with a smile and whispered. "Don't take our odd ways against us too much grandmother. We're half Xenexian and by nature a bit... savage. I guess I have you to thank that even if my social graces are not very good, I'm more prone to be aloof than standoffish and ready for a fight. So thank you grandmother." she pecked her cheek. "I will let them know you are available." she glanced at the 'other' Nick, who she could tell was talking ships and engineering with another engineer. "He seems like a good man, it's a shame that I feel a sense of sadness and confusion in you around him. Not that I'm exactly one to talk in terms of relationships. I only really sort of had feelings for one man, Karl, over there and I confess the reason I'm here talking with you and with my siblings, I have no idea what to say or do around him. Also I am unsure if this is the right time to think with my heart when I am about to get into a very bloody, very violent business very soon."

She touched Nancy's hand. "When this is over, I would very much like to spend a weekend with you. Your people pique my curiosity. Imagine how it is for us, to know that everything we knew from our births, about our families, who we came from was not the truth. I never thought I would have a grandmother that I could look up to."

"I really have no problem with those plans... as long as we do devote some resources toward getting Krissy out of Imperium hands." Nick said firmly. "But I agree... we have to think of what's best for everyone, no matter how much it may hurt us." he sighed heavily. "I learned a long time ago, I may not have all the answers but a wise man surrounds himself with smart people who have some of the answers and I believe that's what we have now. "Hey Carly," Mac said as she and Jason walked up to their sister with a younger version in tow.
"We've got to get going. Sorry we can't stay but mom's called some kind of meeting. Wants Mac and I, Jason, Keira and Zeke, and Selene and Clint there. Something about a mission." Jason said with a shrug.
"She's not giving out details but you know mom." Mac said with a shrug that mirrored her brothers.
"You know she looks a lot like Noella." Jason pointed out as he stared at the blonde woman standing with Carly.
"She's our grandmother." Little Carly informed them matter of fact. The pair looked from Carly to little Carly, each other, and then finally the woman who looked like Noella. Clearly someone had forgotten to inform them of this fact.
"Ummm.....its nice to meet you." The pair said together.

Now she was confused, as she thought Noella looked something else entirely. "My name is I am Dr Nancy Niamh, and I am the real mother of Jack Ryder, and Eric and Ally and ... " She was confused. Seeing all the people having a good time, one person thought it was the best time to make his presence known. As soon as he saw Admiral Dylan, he became resolved about what to do, and he walked right to him.

Admiral Dylan saw him coming and just said, "Shit."

"Not a nice welcome for your I assume 'former' boss?" Darryl said as he looked around him and just stood there."

Posted Image

Liam just looked at him, and at his sidearm that was for some reason not in Darryl's hands. "You don't need that, do you?" he asked Darryl.

Darryl just shook his head, put his hands in the air, and knelt down on his knees. "I do not."

Liam was confused, wondering what the former commander in chief of Starfleet before the Imperium destroyed it - was doing here and how he got in. "What do you need?"

It took a moment for Darryl to reply. "To help."

Liam looked over at his nephew the President, wondering what he would say. "Mr President?" he called. "Do you want his help?"

Darryl just remained knelt in place, leaving his fate totally up to the President and Admiral Dylan, two men who used to technically work for him. And now here he was, on his knees, offering to work for them. But what would the President say? All he could do was wait and pray that he had not just signed his own execution.

Nancy got her sister's message and she looked at her newly found grandchildren. "So Carly - looks like your ex-grandmother is about to have a party on her own, though I don't think she will enjoy it as much as we could enjoy this." She looked at the others. "It is very nice to meet you Mac and Jason. Carly the younger, there was no way you could know who I was." There was no way Carly could know unless elder Carly told her. Still....

"If you don't mind, I think we have a situation to deal with over there that I must join in." Nancy said as she looked at the still kneeling Darryl. ~If it matters,~ she sent to Nick Ryder, ~I think he is here to help too. But it's up to you what you do. And oh, expect the Empress to get either very happy or very pissed off soon enough... my sister Aine is going to say hello, but not as herself.
