James reentered his office for the first time in over a year. It had been sealed with only cleaning nanos inside to keep the dust off the furniture. A holo of himself, Zoe, and Adana right before they'd left. Kinsey had probably put it in the office. He opened his bag and pulled out another one. And placed it on the wall using the magseal to attach it to the wall. He had taken it himself, Zoe in the surf supporting Adana as she "swam". He smiled, not that long ago he would have had photos of famous generals and heroes on his wall. Now only the only holos were of his family. He stood and walked over to the window out into the courtyard, he looked up at the icons of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, and the fierce eyes of Saint George. He crossed himself and kissed the icons one by one. Then he returned to his seat, and powered the desk terminal up. It still displayed the logo of the SFMC. As the most senior officer of the TAMC technically he should probably change it. The emblem had been nearly identical since its origin of the United States Marine Corps. He made a note to discuss it with Nick as soon as it was convenient. |

Jessie waited outside, not sure she was even in the right place. But what was she supposed to do? Her own marine co disappeared, so did the rest of her team. So all she could think of to do was to turn up at the Marine CO's office and report for duty. She stood outside the door and pressed the buzzer, waiting to be seen. How the hell was she going to explain this one? |

James set aside the PADD he had been reading. He clicked the terminal on his desk on and saw the woman outside. He didn't recognize her despite her appearance as a Marine. He stood and went to the door. He opened it. "Can I help you?" |
