Reports coming out of Japan are pricing the Wii system at 19,800 Yen, and conversion rates currently put that at $170.00 USD.

Most of the time however, the rates are not exactly at the conversion rate and will most likely be slightly higher, but still under $200.00

This news comes as reports from Nintendo say the CPU will be cheaper than originaly thought. Stock prices continue to rise in Japan for Nintendo.

For now, the official Nintendo word is that the system will be sold for under 25,000 yen in Japan and $250 in America. Final details are expected in September.

Awesome, a great price range for most Americans we can buy them without having second thoughts about waiting a "few" months until the price drops

Thats great, especially for my budget. Right now I don't have much money for that kind of stuff but I am definatley putting some away each time I get my pay check so I can buy one. Nintendo is always none for there familey oriented games, and the prices show it. :12:

Nice and affordable. What about game prices? Will they be the same 50-60 dollar price range?

I saw this, its pretty cool. I dont think that they have to lower it all the way to $170, though. It seems like people are willing to pay $200, $250 or anywhere in between. Its still a lot cheaper than the PS3 or 360.

USD only
My estimates put the system at $199.99-$209.99
Games - $49.99-$54.99

I'd pay for both prices, won't matter much to me, however if I was younger without a job it's a lot of money. I remember trying to come up with the couple hundred for the N64. lol I remember in the 80's trying to buy the NES for under $100.
