Basically the first hour or so of the film is boring as fuck and after that it was ok. As far as Vietnam films go, I prefer Apocalypse Now, Platoon and Full Metal Jacket. Haven't seen any others.

You should definitely get Taxi Driver.. great film. One of De Niro's best performances I would say.
