Posts: 7,083 Group: Admin Member #178 Joined: January 7, 2005	That "essay" (more like a rant, really) is pretty openly racist, and obviously slanted, but I don't doubt that most of the experiences in it are accurate. Obviously, you know me, I don't think that whites are superior or smarter than blacks, but that doesn't mean that there aren't probably other schools out there like this one. I've never even been to the US, much less have any experience of black schools in the US, so I can't really say for sure, but the whole racial divide does seem to be a problem over there. It's ironic to me though, that some of the issues that this guy ridicules blacks on are actually some of the main faults that the world in general stereotypes Americans of all races for - i.e. obesity, illiteracy, ignorance about world history and geography, etc. I wonder if it's just that maybe... inner city blacks are simply the worst examples of an education system that actually underperforms in every section of society? I don't know.

More of the author becoming disillusioned & exasperated with blacks in the classroom than openly dislking them because of their race. The comments make for much more interesting reading than the article itself IMO, good discussion goingon there.

I'm sorry to African-Americans out there but it's true. The most racist comment i will ever sneer is foreigners who go to my university and talk in jibber jabber while we're trying to work. All I ask is they learn English, atleast try to grasp the concept.
