THE PURPOSE OF ROLE-PLAYING RESOURCES

Don't you think that sometimes people are way too oblivious when it comes to RPing? I do. It sometimes amazes me how people can be so oblivious of the blatantly obvious. What is the blatantly obvious? Heh ...

LOOK AROUND, DIPSHIT! We're in a Wrestling E-Fed. A simulation of what we see on TV. Yet, no one ever seems to play off of the fact that this "show" is in fact on Television. Nobody cares about where it's airing, when it's airing, what's the Network provider, the ratings, the personnel and all of the little details that do matter.

This is what we strive to focus on here in WSX. The little things. Yes, everyone can book a card and write a match, but what about the tiny details to improve the members' immersiveness in this fake world we're trying to create? Don't ignore the little things, embrace them!

That, my friends, is the purpose of this board. This post will hold a collection of every little bit of detail about The Society that you can use in your promos, play off of and expand on in any way that you see fit. If for nothing else, it's at least intriguing to read I would hope.

COMPANY BACKGROUND & ORIGINS

As some of you already noticed, the name of our company is the exact same name of a now defunct real pro wrestling company also called Wrestling Society X. WSX use to air on MTV a few years ago and featured some of the best indy talent one could get his hands on. In my opinion, the shows were amazing. It was such a breath of fresh air to see this kind of rinky dink arena filled with plants from top to bottom and the over-the-top characters they had.

Anyway, that's not important. WSX losed down shortly after never to be heard of again.

This is where we come along! In E-Fed World, WSX is the reincarnation of the old show some of us saw back in the day. Just as before, it airs on MTV. MTV might seem as an odd choice for some of you, but if you do some research (or if you have a freakin' TV) you'll notice that they have greatly expanded their programming beyond music videos and have cluttered their network with a countless number of garbage reality shows and now a wrestling show too!

Part of WSX's funding is coming directly from MTV Network. The other part of our funding is coming from Viacom Media Networks who own MTV and a bunch of other Networks. Officially, we are owned by Viacom and our superior is president of MTV Networks Entertainment Group Doug Herzog (it's a real person) and we are a publicly traded company which means that our financial information is available to the public (among other things).

Our main source of revenue, at this point, are ticket sales, PPV buys as well as advertising since it is a TV show. We expect to have a merchandising department if I find it in me to make some pretty graphics.

"Klutch" airs LIVE every single Monday from 7/8c and lasts an hour. Don't ask me how we got into such a lucrative spot when the company is brand new. It can't be COMPLETELY realistic.

Moreover, since we have to serve corporate interest in some fashion, our show's main demographic are invidiuals between 18-35 years of age. The show is rated PG-14 which allows mild cursing and nudity, violence is a-ok.

Speaking of cursing, we won't bleep or restrict you in that sense. Not in your RPs, at least. However, in the results we won't do or say anything you wouldn't see or hear on TV.

So, in summation ...

RATINGS, ATTENDANCE & PPV BUYS

Since I'm a wise-ass, I figured out a way to calculate what kind of ratings Klutch gets on a weekly basis. I take into account the views per RP, the views for the results thread, the number of segments handed in, the number of matches, the size of our roster and the overall quality of the show. All are rated on a scale of 0-2 (for now). The result ends up being a number between 0 and 2, and that is our rating. Our viewership will be roughly based around that. A 1.0 rating is about 1.1 million people so it takes a bit of logic.

The attendance will likely always be the same and will not go over 1.000 people as this is the capacity of our static location at the moment. I will vary it week to week in order to simulate some life into it.

Depending on who is voted to have the best RP of the week, the best RP moment or best results moment, I will also determine who the RPers are that "draw". Just another thing to brag about for those guys.

The exact same formula is applied to Pay-Per-Views, except that instead of ratings I will calculate a PPV buy-rate based on the same criteria. The attendance, however, will be larger as every single PPV we hold will air from a location somewhere in the US.

An announcement and a list will be made for the people who "drew" the biggest ratings and put the most butts in seats. Just having fun with it.

THE ARENA & CREW

The WSX Bunker is located in Los Angeles California. It has a 1,000 people capacity and the ticket prices range from $9.99 to $19.99. We are equipped with a basic P.A System as well as a X-Tron to view visual content.

Arena: WSX Bunker
Location: Los Angeles, California
Capacity: 1,000 asses
Ticket prices: $9.99 - $19.99
Number of Cameras: 4

The on-air crew of Klutch consists of three color commentators, two in-ring announcers, four referees, two backstage interviewers, a general manager and of course - yours truly as the owner.

Both myself and GM Max Webber are neutral in alignment. We are all about business and keeping this show on the air despite the financial issues and the roster deficit we are going through.

The collor commentators are Manchester Black, Clark Parker and Nina Lee. Black is our heel commentator. He adores the bad guys, hates the good guys with a passion and slams them in a verbal fury coated in raw British anger. Clark Parker, on the other hand, is a pansy-ass nerd from Idaho and is our babyface announcer. Lee, on the other hand, is our third and neutral announcer who focuses on calling the matches while Parker and Black bicker.

Alisha Johnson and Johnny Lewis are our ring announcers. While they switch roles throughout the night, Alisha is the one taking care of all the Main Events and title matches.

Kyle Williams and Sasha Aniston, on the other hand, are our backstage interviewers and also the people who run our Internet broadcasts or any other type of journalistic work there is. Kyle tends to be the push-over type while Sasha Aniston is the unfortunate victim of horny wrestlers.

We feel that it is important to "know" these NPCs and use their individual personalities to your advantage in order to immerse yourself and your promo in the WSX Universe.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I strongly urge you to use this information in your promos and segments. It is incredibly fun to read a promo that uses all of this information and makes for a fun segment or interaction. Don't be a spectator in WSX. Do not just come along, post a promo and leave. Your character is a part of our world. Have him or her be truly tuned in to the heart beat of WSX.
